We build precision molds for products made from a wide variety of particle foams. Each one starts with a design, progresses through toolmaking, manufacturing, and quality control—and doesn’t leave our facility until it’s ready for series production. That’s how we’ve been working since 1988. And the more challenging the project, the better: We develop molds that others don’t dare to tackle—complex geometries, tight tolerances, and the most demanding energy requirements.
We take responsibility for our customers’ molds—even long after delivery—by providing ongoing support, maintenance, and repairs for both our own and third-party tools, even on weekends if necessary. We see every project through to the end. You can count on us for that.

Built as a Whole:

This is the scale at which we manufacture aluminum molds for particle foam. We produce large components in a single piece—rather than assembling them from multiple segments. This eliminates a joining step, maintains tolerances along the entire length, and reduces weak points in the component.

Founded by Reinhold Schraml, the company is now run by the second generation. The name on the tools is the same as it was in 1988. Our expertise has grown steadily ever since. So has our workforce: colleagues who have been with us for twenty, twenty-five, and thirty years—many of whom were trained here.

You Can Count on Our Molds.
As one of the first mold makers in the world specializing in particle foam, we built a mold that forms a mass-produced component for the aerospace industry. Not a prototype, not a one-off: a part from a production run. The aerospace industry conducts more rigorous testing than any other industry. Our mold passed that test.
We Won’t Be Done Until the
Series Starts for You.
From the initial consultation to the SOP, the value-added process remains entirely in-house. We only outsource coating work. Everything else is produced in Waldershof, by the same hands that will later maintain your tool.

Development
Every mold starts with the part, not the shape. We determine the geometry, material (EPP, EPS, EPE, ETPU, EPA, …), production volume, and process window before the first mold is created. The result is a well-designed mold concept with a clear focus on cycle times, energy savings, stability, and adaptability.

3D-Model
The 3D model defines what will later form the component: chamber layout, vapor flow, and venting. Every detail plays a role in determining how evenly the particles are distributed and expand, and how cleanly the finished component can be removed from the mold.

Prototype
Before the production mold is made, we use the prototype to check what cannot be seen on a screen: dimensional accuracy, density, and demolding. Only when the first components meet your specifications does the mold move on to the next stage.

Toolmaking
The tooling department in Waldershof manufactures parts—step by step, all the way to production readiness—for dimensions up to 5 × 3 × 2 meters. What is designed on the screen is milled, drilled, and assembled here by the same people who ultimately inspect and approve it.

In 1988, Reinhold Schraml started out in the basement of his home. In 2015, Alexander Schraml took over the company as the second-generation owner, having been actively involved in the business since childhood. From the very beginning, we have focused on meeting our customers’ needs. We have built partnerships with our customers that have lasted for decades because every single tool has delivered as promised.
